Yukon First Nations Wildfire (YFNW) is a partnership of eight Yukon First Nations
stakeholders, providing emergency management and training services. With Elders,
YFNW incorporates traditional knowledge and is visible in Yukon communities through
our Initial Attack and Sustained Action wildfire programs as well as our Warrior
Program, our youth empowerment and preparedness training. We continually expand
our services and develop future leaders as the need for multi-faceted emergency
personnel grows.

We are seeking a visionary Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead YFNW into its next
chapter of growth and impact. The CEO will oversee all aspects of our operations,
including strategic planning, partnerships, financial management, and team leadership.
This role requires a commitment to advancing Indigenous employment and cultural
values while driving operational excellence.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in executive leadership, preferably in wildfire management,
    emergency services, or related field.
  • Ability to inspire confidence and create trust
  • Ability to make decisions, work under pressure, plan workload effectively, and to
    delegate.
  • Strong understanding of Indigenous governance, cultural protocols, and
    community dynamics.
  • Financial acumen, with the ability to manage budgets and drive sustainable
    growth.
  • A passion for environmental stewardship and community resilience.
  • Business Administration Degree or equivalent experience.
